The therapeutic use of medicinal plants products is a logical alternative to chemically manufactured medications. Many ethnobotanic studies carried out in various parts of Kenya have shown many naturally occurring plants being used for animal disease management. Some of these include African Moringa, Emblica ribes, Dogbane, Pyrus sativus, Scutellaria baiclensis and Yerba mate. These natural products are being tested as potential cures for diseases such as diabetes, cancer, Parkinson’s disease and others. Many researchers have screened certain plant extracts for their antiviral, antifungal, antibacterial, antispasmodic and their therapeutic effects on various human ailments.

Most people are familiar with the concept of ayurvedic medicine. This is a form of traditional medicine based on the principals of hgh or the Human Growth Hormone and the principal herb ganoderma. There are innumerable medicinal plants products based on ganoderma. These medicinal plants products include, bark, root, rhizomes, seeds and other parts of the plant. In recent times, ganoderma has also come up with the concept of herbal medicine which aims at providing medical solutions to a vast array of human ailments using medicinal plants. Ayurvedic herbs like Pterocarpus santalinus, Scutellaria baiclensis, Polygonum multiflorum, Equisetum arvense and Syzygium aromaticum are some of the major medicinal plants used in the treatment of diabetes.

Medicinal plants products such as African Moringa are also used for treating diabetes. These medicinal plants products help in reducing blood sugar levels. Syzygium aromaticum has been widely used in the ancient Ayurvedic systems of medicine to treat diabetes. These syzygium aromaticum products reduce blood glucose and cholesterol levels and also reduce inflammation. It also helps in preventing kidney stones and cures diabetes mellitus.

African Moringa can also be used as an effective remedy for those suffering from diabetes. Diabetes mellitus is characterized by excessive insulin secretion. African Moringa reduces the insulin level to normal levels, thereby normalizing the blood sugar level. This acts similarly to the effects of insulin.

There are numerous other medicinal plants products which are used to treat diabetes. Some of these medicinal plants products are Diabetes Lactans, Diabetes Triglycerides and insulin. All these products are able to reduce blood sugar levels. In addition, these products also improve insulin sensitivity in the body and thus allow the diabetic to control his blood glucose levels more effectively.

Medicinal plants also manufacture a wide range of other medicinal plants products like anti-inflammatory extracts, laxatives, diuretics, pain relievers and so forth. These products can help to bring down blood pressure, alleviate diarrhea, treat asthma and eczema. These medicinal plants are also able to treat wounds and rheumatism. They are also able to treat minor wounds and cuts and therefore provide an immense scope for the manufacture of a vast array of medicinal plants products. Thus there is ample scope for the medicinal plants sector in India as well.

Pharma Companies

However, despite being a rising trend, the medicinal plants sector in India has been unable to create its own niche in the global market. With the current government’s focus on promoting local manufacturing of pharmaceuticals and equipment, this sector is all set to make huge inroads into the domestic market. Recent surveys show that the Indian government is all set to promote the manufacturing of ayurvedic products too. The ayurvedic sector is already active in the west and so it makes sense to focus on the east if you are looking to enter this field of medicinal plants products. This is because the east’s medicinal plants are far more advanced and have been producing effective products for a long time.

Another factor which needs to be taken into consideration is that the medicinal plants that are able to tolerate the harsh climatic conditions in India have a greater chance of being able to make it big. Temperate conditions in the east mean that the medicinal plants there have adapted to this and are hence better able to cope with the harsh environmental conditions. By promoting the production of these types of plants, not only will the Indian pharmaceutical industry be able to make headway in the medical world, but the eastern medicine too will be given a much needed push towards wider acceptance.
